Confirmed: cannot use the external monitor, computer will crash as soon as I try to switch in on with toshset -video both. Was working ok with 9.04.
Hardware: Toshiba Portege M400, with intel 945GM.
Software: Ubuntu 9.10 (upgrade from 9.04) on AMD64
