i WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE FILE \etc\modprobe.d\alsa-base.conf but was unable to save in this directory is there a way to edit the file so I can try the patches. Thanks R

its a toshiba nb205-330wh, I am new to ubuntu but this is netbook remix 10.04
