Steve, I've forwarded the bug upstream to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22779 and subscribed you to the bug. Please follow up on the upstream bug, as I have a suspicion they're going to want to have a bit more info.

I am still not 100% sure this is actually an X bug, or something in gnome, but we'll assume it's X for now. I would have thought one of the recent -intel changes for EDID handling would have already fixed it, but I guess not.
