Dylan, you've most probably got the correct bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/286285/comments/52 has a patch that will ease the issue.

There is an update forthcoming in the "proposed" repository, but so far nobody has reported on it (it was still missing as of my last check a few hours ago).
