P.P.S. An invocation of sudo toshset -video both may be necessary in the script... Hmmm... come to think of it, the need to sudo may be why the script doesn't exist... Perhaps there is a way of achieving the same effect by writing to the /proc filesystem (see e.g. the tosh brightness scripts).
