I've tried following instructions from
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto
but it didn't help.
I've checked the documentation:
/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/ALSA-Configuration.txt.gz
/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/HD-Audio.txt.gz
/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/HD-Audio-Models.txt.gz
and edited /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added the following line:
options snd-hda-intel model=macbook
After reboot I had no sound at all.

Installing linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic didn't help too.
Still no sound on headphone jack.
