gphoto2 is already installed as are libghoto2-2, libghoto2-2-port. I got the error:

~$ gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile /tmp/gphoto.debug.txt -L
*** Error (-35: 'Error writing to the port') ***

Attached is the debug file.
