I agree with previous writer.

Here's also quick terminal solution from forum:

gconftool-2 --type string --set /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_ac "nothing"
gconftool-2 --type string --set /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_battery "nothing"
