Comment 14 for bug 379052

I am currently having a similar issue using the final release, kernel 2.6.31-15-generic on an HP dv6049wm.
I have been able to install the driver, however my machine boots into low-graphics mode afterwards (unable to detect display an input devices properly). I nvidia's driver installed and have edited xorg multiple times in an attempt to correct this. When I uninstall the broadcom driver, boot continues without any problems.
