Thanks Niels. I tried to install it prior to putting the dkms package in. So, I ran

"sudo dpkg --configure -a"

and the re-installed the deb from David. PRESTO!! SOUND!! THANK YOU ALL! FIXES MAKE HAPPY USERS!
