In Omap3xxx EHCI functional clock “hs_fck” is clocked at 120MHz. Where as rate for this clock has been reduced to 60MHz for Omap4xxx. This can be a potential reason for the reduced USB bandwidth available on omap4 platforms. How the reduced clock frequency effects the bandwidth, if at all, depends upon the way this clock is used inside EHCI core.
Can someone from TI take a look at this and confirm if the reduced USB bandwidth on Omap4 as compared to Omap3 is expected behavior?
