Bug Description

There is no audio when using a PixelView PlayTV USB Hybrid (1554:5010) device for watching analog TV channels in tvtime. This device is supported by the cx231xx driver. The problem can be fixed by adding a check for cx231xx in audiolib.c (please see the attached patch).

Hello Paulo Matis,
I don't have PixelView PlayTV tuner you've tested it works on Ubuntu after the update?

Hi Pojar George,
Yes, I've added the patch to the package using quilt, built it using dpkg-buildpackage, installed it and tested it. In fact, my patch depends on a non-upstream patch present only in Ubuntu (tvtime-1.0.2-alsa.patch, LP: #340769).

Hi Paulo Matias

I rewrite ALSA code for tvtime . Now should recognize all video device witch have alsa sound. You can try proposed version from my PPA: https://code.launchpad.net/~geoubuntu/+archive/media.

If you confirm that resolve your problem with tvtime, will propose to merge this version to be applied in Trusty.

Best regards
