It is the same bug that Bug #722609: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/722609
I managed to execute the command line : ubuntu-bug linux-image-2.6.35-25-generic
with the previous Kernel : 2.6.31-14-generic

I recall that It is tempting to upgrade to Ubuntu LTS version 10.04.2 to 10.10 I encounter several problems.

I describe the procedure in this french forum:
>>> http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=443681

Here are the messages blockers obtained during the upgrade:

Please feel free to open a new bug report if you're still experiencing this on a newer release (Bionic 18.04.3 / Disco 19.04)
Thanks!
