Bug Description

Since upgrading to Natty Alpha 1 have had to boot into previous kernel 2.6.35 as kernel 2.6.37 caused kernel panic on bootup. Now kernel 2.6.38-1 installed and similar issue, no longer get kernel panic indication (either on screen or flashing capslock LED) but syslog clearly shows kernel stopped abruptly. Syslog entry stops half way through writing date/time in next syslog entry line.

Pls Note: I have a BRFS /home partition which was originally formatted/built from an early version of BTRFS (I think 10.04 from memory). But I do not see this as being a potential issue as the crash occures a long time before BTRFS drivers are even loaded yet alone mounted.

Below is FULL boot sequence to faulty kernel:-

Tried another run through. This time no output to syslog file for that boot to 2.6.38-1

Since the syslog was cut of mid entry I thought it might be HD cache not written to disk before kernel crash. So through I'd try it again to see if got lucky and had more written to syslog. Looks like the 1st run through was the lucky one as all other boots to 2.6.38 give NO output to syslog.

Went back to original run through where I did get boot details logged and found that kern.log also had data logged which was again cut short:-
