You can also see that some files are licensed under LGPL and the COPYING file only lists the GPL.

I reported this upstream at http://www.emesene.org/trac/ticket/80 ; it looks like they're about to fix the issue.

It has been marked fixed in the emesene bugtracker.

Yes, Emilio is going to fix this in debian, so we'll get this in hardy (8.04).

I was initially waiting for 1.0 to be released, but now I'm tempted to upload a svn snapshot to Debian and sync it in Ubuntu so if 1.0 is released we can request a sync, since it won't need to be NEWed and it will likely be accepted because of svn snapshot vs final release. I think I'll do that now.

With only ten days until feature freeze, are you still planning to do this?

Yes. Upstream has to remove some non-free sounds they have in the source tree. I've asked them to do it ASAP, and they will hopefully do it in the next svn commit (r1012). I'll upload it to Ubuntu then.
