I've installed Ubuntu using Wubi rev 132 (link provided in bug 365642). I have an English XP, and I selected the French language. However, after the installation completed and I installed all the updates, Ubuntu was still in English, not in French.
Is Wubi not respecting the language settings provided before the installation?
I've attached the Wubi log, but I have no trace of c:\ubuntu\install\custom-installation\preseed.cfg or c:\ubuntu\install\boot\grub\menu.lst as proposed by Agostino Russo in the previously mentioned bug, my c:\ubuntu\install\ folder only contains a single file: .fuse_hidden0000000400000001
Please note that it was installed from a local copy of ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso while the system would have liked to install an amd64, but I don't think that it would influence the language...
I had about the same problem. English XP, US keyboard, selected 'english' during installation, but I ended up with a dutch Ubuntu. Seems that wubi looks at the 'locale' (regional settings) in Windows?
