Bug Description

RELEASE: Intrepid
CD/DVD VARIANT: 32/64 bit Kubuntu Desktop cd
ISO BUILD: 20080930.1

SYMPTOMS: When shutting down Kubuntu I get the following error
/etc/init.d/rc: 372: /etc/rc6.d/S60umountroot: Input/output error
/etc/init.d/rc: 372: /etc/rc6.d/S90reboot: Input/output error

This happens on Vista and Xp installs, but didn't happen on 20080930 so something has changed in there somewhere.

CAUSE:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1/ Install Kubuntu via wubi
2/ shutdown Kubuntu once installed

I had noticed this too and already mentioned to Colin and Evan. This is due to changes to init.d/umountfs and umountroot having been reverted, so that /host gets unmounted too early and subsequent rc6.d scripts become unavailable. Umountroot is less critical because last time I looked at it, ntfs could not be remounted ro (not sure if things changed).
