Bug Description

I remember talking about this at UDS and how it was supposed to be this way, and we all knew that, but I can't find a bug to track it so here it is.

You're supposed to be able to drag a lens from the dash and onto the launcher, so that people can have their app or files lenses right on their launchers like we did for 11.04.

-----------------------------------

Desired solution:

- A user should be able to add a Lens icon to the Launcher by dragging the relevant icon from the Dash Nav to the Launcher (a user can position a Lens icon in any position they choose on the Launcher).
- All Lens icons should always remain in the Dash Nav; they are not removable from this location.
- Lens icons in the Launcher can be removed at any time by dragging and dropping them into the Trash
- See attached visual design "unity_desktop_24_06_11_02.png" for details of how the Launcher lens icons should appear. Contact Rosie for the required visual assets.
- The Dash Nav should not change, icons that are dragged to the Launcher also remain in the Dash Nav

- How should the visual-design look like (animation) for this use-case?

The lense-icons look different than normal icons in the dash and are located in a different place too
- What visual clues should the user get to "discover" he/she can also drag lens-icons from the lense-navigation-bar at the bottom of the dash to the launcher?

- What happens with the lens-icon itself on the lens-navigation-bar? Does it stay there? Is it removed? Should the layout of the lens-icons in there change?

Ubuntu 17.10 will ship with Gnome Shell by default. Given this, we do not plan to work on this bug anymore. Closing.
