Bug Description

You may be interested to know your new ubuntu one music streaming solution (subsonic) has a component that is released under the CC-non-commercial license.

Yep it's confirmed. I just got an email back from the author of the component and he was very interested to learn that Ubuntu One is going to deploy his product in a commercial setting, while not being paid his commercial licensing fee. I suspect you will either get a bill or a law suit in the near future.

Have a nice day

So the U1 Music streaming isn't going to use the JW player 5 for flash at all? Just Subsonic as the server software that is going to be exposed to the iPhone/Android clients?
So no web player for streaming directly from one.ubuntu.com by using a web browser? Or at least not the JW player 5 for flash?

Ubuntu One is only hosting a server based on the Subsonic API. It is not using the server nor is any flash player embeded on the one.ubuntu.com.

While researching and preparing the music streaming feature we opened discussions with the upstream developers of both the server software and the client software, none of them will be surprised to learn about Ubuntu One music streaming plans. To be clear, we are not using a single letter of code from the Subsonic server, we have our own implementation which provides a compatible API - it sounds like you have misinformed the upstream author. Please follow up to correct this to save unnecessary worries.

I believe there are zero license violations in any of the Ubuntu One code. We're only human though, and make mistakes, so if anyone ever does find or suspect a licensing problem I'm really really happy to be told about it immediately, and we would immediately correct things. Please, if you or anyone reading this worries that some part of Ubuntu One has a licensing violation, do let us know right away - filing a bug is a great way to do this.

That comment confused me. I thought it was somehow referring to the JW player and not Subsonic.
