Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24

I was going to give Hardy a shot on my PA Semi Electra board. I see that
the kernel is built with PPC_PASEMI=y, which is a very good start.

However, it lacks the ethernet driver for the on-chip ethernet
interfaces. Care to apply the attached patch?

Thanks!

Hi Olof,

There doesn't seem to be any patch attached to this bug report. Care to try again? Thanks.

I thought I did. Maybe I can actually add it if I move it back to new state, let's see.

Copied to hardy-updates. The new kernel was tested extensively by many people, who reported back in other bug reports. Due to lack of feedback, this particular bug was not confirmed to be tested, though. Please report back here if the bug still occurs for you with the new kernel packages, then we will reopen this bug.

It's my understanding that powerpc is now handled by linux-ports in Universe for Intrepid so I'm closing the Intrepid task for 'linux'. Glancing at the ubuntu-intrepid-ports git tree it looks like CONFIG_PASEMI_MAC is not enabled so I'll open a linux-ports task instead.

ogasawara@yoji:~/ubuntu-intrepid-ports/debian/config/powerpc$ grep -rn "CONFIG_PASEMI_MAC" *
config.powerpc64-smp:101:# CONFIG_PASEMI_MAC is not set

I'll ask Dan if we're ok to upload this kernel.
