Bug Description

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

The applet shows Suspend and Hibernate, even when the gnome-session Log Out and Shut Down dialogs do not.

Also, for me the applet only shows "Suspend", whereas gnome-session (rightfully) has suspend and hibernate.

Just talked with Ted. The bug is well understood and he is working on a fix. fusa should ask gpm over d-bus about available options instead of guesstimating.

Fixed the patches and uploaded a fixed pacage. fast-user-switch-applet_2.24.0-0ubuntu2 in my PPA.

This was fixed in the upload of fast-user-switch-applet 2.24.0-0ubuntu2. Changelog:

fast-user-switch-applet (2.24.0-0ubuntu2) intrepid; urgency=low

  * 84_session_management.patch, 90_status_management.patch: changing
    both of these to have suspend and hibernate, and asking GPM whether
    they should be shown. (LP #274140)

I see the opposite : fast-user-switch-applet doesn't always show me suspend and hibernate options whereas gnome-session allows me.
