Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I'm using an ASUS P5Q-EM motherboard, with intel G45 graphics.

The screen locks up.
And when logging in via ssh, the following is the last thing seen on using dmesg.

I've been having these screen lock ups when using other 3D software (compiz and quakelive) but stormbaan seems to reproduce this quite reliably when starting a new game. The system itself always remains up, and available for ssh connections.

This issue was reported against karmic, so can you confirm if this issue exists with the most recent Lucid Lynx 10.04 Alpha release? ISO CD images are available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/ . Thanks in advance.

I booted up using a USB stick with the latest Alpha and installed the lucid
deb files for Stormbaan. I couldn't seem to use the package managers.

But yes, I can confirm that the problem still exists. The crash occurs when
you start a new game:
