Compiz window shadow miss-drawn after resuming from suspend - appears as a Strange halo arround icon bar and some popup dialog boxes

Bug Description

I am seeing a strange multi-colored halo around the top icon bar, menus opend from it, and some splash screens.

I have an ATI x1600 mobile graphics card, I am using the open drivers, and I am using compiz fusion.

Do you have Compiz set to show a shadow? Maybe it's rendering wrong? If you don't have compizconfig-settings-manager installed, please install it and see if you can disable the shadow settings in there and if it makes this go away.

Thanks for you tip Mackenzie.

It is the window shaddow being miss-drawn. Also it only appears after resuming from suspend, not from a cold boot.

I have tried testing other 3D applications and not seen any similar artifacts.

What versions of Ubuntu, Compiz, and xserver-xorg-video-ati are you using?

Sorry I should have said.

I am running intrepid, and am using the latest versions currently available in that branch. A quick search on packages.ubuntu.com, show the current version numbers are:

Package compiz
      1:0.7.7+git20080807-0ubuntu10

Package xserver-xorg-video-ati
      1:6.9.0+git20080826.a3cc1d7a-2ubuntu2: amd64 i386

Please also include the output of `lspci -vvnn` and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log after you are able to see the halo.
