Bug Description

Fresh install of Kubuntu 8.10 i386 on http://www.intel.com/Products/Desktop/Motherboards/D945GCLF/D945GCLF-overview.htm attached to a 1920x1080 TV display. Left and right of the log in window is gibberish, as if the window itself is only for 4:3 displays (and well centered) and what is on the sides is some sort of overflow.
