I foolishly ran
sudo apt-get remove virtuoso*
to remove those packages in hopes of manually removing any dependency loops by doing so.

Now I am running into the following:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
Richte initramfs-tools ein (0.92bubuntu64) ...
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)

Verarbeite Trigger für initramfs-tools ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-12-generic-pae
cpio: ./lib/udev/firmware.sh: Funktion stat fehlgeschlagen: No such file or directory
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-12-generic-pae
dpkg: Unterprozess installiertes post-installation-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück

I shure hope this didnt break my system.

Still seeing it upon checking this morning, could it be possibly the repositorie being used? Or is this something that has not quite been worked out yet?

This bug is still there (just tried an dist-upgrade).

@chillhock: You experience bug #519855, which is totally unrelated to this bug.

Workaround!

Open synaptic and type in the quick search virtuoso. Disable virtuoso-server.
Now you can upgrade without an error.

Or just simply kill the bugger from good old terminal type:
sudo apt-get purge virtuoso-server

Promise will not give you the headaches of the gui ware with synaptic glitches.. :-)

Kubuntu Rocks.
