Bug Description
Binary package hint: userconfig
I used userconfig in kubuntu 10.10 to create a new user. It did create a new group for that user but failed to give the group a name and also didn't add the user to the group in the end.
In my /etc/group I had a line ::1001: in the end.
Changed in userconfig (Ubuntu): | |
status: | New → Confirmed |
To post a comment you must log in.
How to reproduce:
* Press 'New...' in User tab
* in the new user dialog that popps up, delete the Primary Group entry:, so it's empty
* Confirm with 'Ok'
==>
[0]root@alleehol:~# tail -1 /etc/group
::1002:
That the primary group is not properly validted is especially dangerous, due to the fact that the 'primary group' entry is selected by default when the dialog comes up.
