Bug Description

Binary package hint: udev

lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
Release: 9.04

After udev was upgraded to 138-1 (or dmsetup to 2:1.02.27-4ubuntu4, I'm not sure which one caused this) my jaunty didn't boot. Output to screen was something like this (I wrote this down because I couldn't find it from log files). This output was kept coming for hours:

/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.1/host0/target0:0:0/0:0:0:0/block/sda/sda (15364)
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.1/host0/target0:0:0/0:0:0:0/block/sda/sda1
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.1/host0/target0:0:0/0:0:0:0/block/sda/sda2
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.1/host0/target0:0:0/0:0:0:0/block/sda/sda (15363)

/dev/sda1 is rootfs and /dev/sda2 is lvm partition

I got this fixed by booting from Jaunty's daily cd (20 Feb 2009) into the repair mode and then installing previous versions of udev (137-2) and dmsetup (2:1.02.27-4ubuntu3) from cd.
