[sync-request] Please sync transmission 0.90.dfsg-1 from Debian

I second this request.
0.80 came out 20 days ago, 0.81 came out 3 days ago

They have performance enhancements, new translations, memory leaks fixed, torrent creation features, better upnp/peer exchange, selective downloading, etc:

Ability to selectively download and prioritize files
Torrent file creation
Speed and CPU load improvements
Fix to UPnP
Rechecking torrents is now done one-at-a-time to avoid heavy disk load
Better rechecking of torrents that have many files
Many miscellaneous improvements and bugfixes
Added Torrent Inspector dialog
Added Update Tracker button
Various smaller interface improvements

Fix 0.80 assertion crashes
Fix a bug that miscounted how many peers Transmission wants connected
Correct incorrect error messages
Memory leaks fixed
Updated Dutch, Portuguese, French, and Slovakian translations
Better support for cli-driven torrent creation
Fix a bug that misparsed command-line arguments

I was about to open a new UVF exception request, but since I've found this bug, I'll post here.

Debian Sid has already updated to 0.81 - I have manually installed that version to test and it works fine. With regard to UVF requirements, there is no readily available upstream changelog, but there's one from "our" upstream, Debian:

This release brings enhancements and at least one bugfix from Debian's tracker. I would argue this is a safe candidate for an UVF exception as it does not alter any dependencies or directly affect other packages.

Version 0.82 is out:
Fixed bug that could limit transfer speeds
Fixed bug that corrupted torrents > 4 GB
Fixed bug that could allow bad peers to send too many pieces
For peers supporting both Azureus's and LibTorrent's extensions, allow negotiation to decide which to use
Other minor fixes

0.90 will released in the next week or so. Since it adds encryption and UI improvements in the gtk+ client, I'd love to see Ubuntu update to this version when it comes out.

I'm one of the developers on the Transmission project who works on the backend and on the gtk+ GUI. Is there anything that I can do to make it easier for Transmission to play nicely with Ubuntu so that it can be updated more frequently?
