Bug Description

Binary package hint: svk

Release: Ubuntu Intrepid (development)
Package: svk 2.0.2-2ubuntu

Problem: Cannot be installed due to an unsatisfied dependency on libfile-temp-perl > 0.17

This appears to be a regression from previous releases where libfile-temp-perl was replaced with perl-modules which supplies the libfile-temp-perl virtual package.

Specifically, the problem is that svk is using a *versioned* dependency on libfile-temp-perl, and versioned dependencies can only be satisfied by real packages, not virtual ones. So, fixing this should just be a matter of changing svk's Depends line to reference perl-modules instead, I guess.

Nominating for intrepid since it's a regression, and rather safe to fix, (especially since with the package currently being uninstallable, it's hard to make things worse :-) ).

Is there a work around to allow me to install svk while this is being processed?

This bug was fixed in the package svk - 2.0.2-2ubuntu2

  * Changed dependency from libfile-temp-perl -> perl-modules
    to make package installable. Thank you to Max Bowsher for
    the fix. (LP: #282793)

I had to upload a modified debdiff that depended on perl, vs perl-modules (which is the correct fix). This is fixed in jaunty. Here's the debdiff for intrepid. Subscribing motu-sru for the ACK.

This bug is not fixed in Intrepid. We still have 2.0.2-2ubuntu1 version in Intrepid.

Iulian: That's because no one has verified the fix, its still stuck in proposed.

However, I just verified it, and retagged verification-done.
