Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When an iPod is connected, the Last.fm scrobbler plugin usually submits all tracks played on the iPod since the last time it was connected. This was the behaviour in Jaunty. In Karmic, the scrobbler does the same, except that the next time the iPod is connected, the tracks since the last connection AND those from before are submitted, meaning that now, after connecting my iPod 4 times, I have tracks that have been submitted 4 times from a few days ago.

not an issue here, could you get a rhythmbox log if you're able to replicate the problem? just run rhythmbox as: rhythmbox -D audioscrobbler &> rhythmbox-lastfm.txt ; reproduce the issue and attach that resulting file to the report, thanks in advance.

OK. Here is the output for that. The scrobbles in this one do not date back as far. To do this, I connected my iPod, then after all the recent tracks were scrobbled, i ejected the iPod, closed Rhythmbox and restarted it. Then I re-connected the iPod, and the tracks all scrobbled again. This is the output of that second run of RhythmBox.

An update:
I haven't seen this bug for a while now, although I have one more thing to note. One of the times I did see this bug, Rhythmbox would not let me copy a podcast to the iPod due to a permissions problem of some kind (not able to write to the iPod). In the output I attached in my previous post there is also a mention of a permissions problem, so maybe this issue is unrelated to Rhythmbox, rather I had a transient issue in mounting the iPod which meant Rhythmbox could not write the changes, so the next time the iPod was connected, it looked as though it hadn't changed? These are only my observations, I do not know if this is the case.
Thanks,
Tristan

I just had the symptoms again, and also had the permissions denied when copying a podcast to the iPod. Does anyone know which package I should report the bug against for this?
Thanks,
Tristan.
