German Translation Issues in Hardy Rhythmbox

Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

My Ubuntu release is 8.04 Hardy Heron. The rhymbox release is: 0.11.5-0ubuntu6 .

The problem is minor, but my searching through the translation .po resulted with no possibility for me to suggest this problem otherwise. I choose to not use buttons in my applications, and thus I have text for the "Next" and "Previous" buttons on the main toolbar. In the German translation, "Previous" has not been translated to "Vorheriger". Also in the drop-down menu "Bearbeiten", the button "Preferences" has not been translated to "Eigenschaften". I would have posted suggestions on the translation .po, but these parts are not acknowledged in the file anywhere, and I am not experienced enough to add this.

I also discovered this problem a couple of weeks ago and found out that the upstream translation is incomplete. I suggest to fix this bug in the upstream translation than just updating the translation in Rosetta.

I just approved most of the pending translations for Rhythmbox. However, Next/Previous are not amongst them. I checked the GTK translations, too, they are complete (so it's not a standard GTK widget either). Hmm.

Maybe nobody has filed in bug against it in bugzilla.gnome.org, but the upstream translation of Rhythmbox is definitely incomplete. If you take a look at

http://l10n.gnome.org/POT/rhythmbox.HEAD/rhythmbox.HEAD.de.po

and search for "Pre_vious" you can see that it's marked as fuzzy and therefore untranslated. That's exactly the string displayed in the system tray. I am just working on updating the upstream translation (I also contribute to the GNOME German Translator Team).

Ah, the translation was marked as fuzzy. Fixed now in Rosetta.
