Bug Description

Binary package hint: plasma-netbook

The new plasma for netbooks is still in heavy development (aimed at KDE 4.4, we are backporting). The current plasma-netbook is very immature.

The spec'ed plan for it has all the patches needed for non-netbook KDE packages in by FF and plamsa-netbook continuing to update from upstream until at least Karmic Beta. Package is new to Karmic so there is no regression risk.

If it doesn't work out, the fallback plan is to drop plasma-netbook and switch back to the regular plasma shell. We'd deliver essentially a standard Kubuntu look and feel scaled for netbooks, so this is a low risk FFe.

ACK from me, this is needed and expected, upstream are aware of our timeline, plus plasma-netbook is a first shot.

Adding ubuntu-doc since several of the outstanding issues we still need to deal with will have U/I impact. Expect U/I done before beta, but not Alpha 6.

This is likely, but not certainly, done. I have one patch to review that
may give us a worthwhile benifit for low battery/non-compositing
operations. We also are doing a final review of default settings.
