----------

Open Office is the main Office application suit in use on Ubuntu (and derivative) systems. As such it is clearly beneficial to the end-user to have the most current and stable release possible. Currently a release candidate sits within Gutsy, this should be upgraded to the final release for stability and functional purposes.

With the Ubuntu 7.10 beta approaching, there will be plenty of large scale testing of the newest version of Open Office (as long as the new release is included in the beta), allowing concrete user-testing to be done.
