Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome

I've been used to Pre-jaunty network manager where I could tab between the various fields when adding an IP statically.

This also adds the netmask automatically when tabbing over it. Most users do not know what to enter in this field.

However, it is not possible to do so on Jaunty since pressing 'Add' to add an IP creates an address line that is basically non-tabbable. The user has to click each field after typing in the values. Clicking 'Enter' confirms the line.

The fix would probably be to allow the usability of tabbing between fields and allowing auto addition of netmask.

Excuse me if I've selected the wrong package. I'm new to bug reporting.

I can confirm the issue still persists with 9.10 Beta.

I apologize for the delay in filling info for this bug.
I can confirm the issue on Karmic Koala final release. Pressing tab after entering values in a field doesn't move to the next field. Instead, it starts a mini-text box like the one in the attachment

There is a way to do this from the keyboard, call it a workaround. If you click to enter the ip, you can then use the right-arrow to move over, hit enter to gain access, then type in the next box. If you hit tab first, it fails.

Okay, I made a mistake in the above comments. Instead of using tab and / or arrows, just hit enter after entering data, then hit enter again to move to the next space and enter the desired data. After entering data in the last space, hit enter, then tab to continue out of the box.

Yes, that works. But it still doesn't fill the NetMask automatically the way it used to.
However, thanks for the workaround!
