Bug Description

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

Looking at the source, netbook-launcher calls glxinfo in netbook-launcher/nl_config.c to determine if it should use low graphics mode or not which needs mesa-utils installed to work correctly. mesa-utils is currently in universe.

I also noticed that it appears to check for direct rendering = yes from the glxinfo output to determine if it should use low graphics mode or not when its possible to have that with swrast. Perhaps the check should be extended to also check that the opengl renderer string isn't Software Rasterizer.

I've added a check in main.c to switch between the 2D and 3D launcher in main.c, I didn't noticed the old one. This is based on the "Software Rasterizer". I guess we can drop the other test in nl_config.c. Also, I don't call glxinfo but directly implement the needed code from X to get it (for effenciency).

UNE and netbook-launcher are part of Lucid Desktop. Support for those products ended about a year ago. I'm sorry I do not have better news.
