Bug Description
In Ubuntu 8.04 the module
netxen_nic
exists but does not work. It can be loaded manually but that's all.
This affects, at least, the following HP/NetXen Gigabit network controller:
NC522SFP
103c:705b NC522SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adapter
http://
It has been proven to work, at least, in Ubuntu 9.10.
Attached is a compressed tarball (info.tar.gz) containing the following files:
dmesg-910.txt
lspci-910.txt (includes several invocations of lspci)
system-910.txt
lshw-910.txt
dmesg-804.txt
modinfo-804.txt
Please provide support for the above card in Ubuntu 8.04.
Support for this chip/card [4040:0100] (Subsystem: [103c:705b]) ]doesn't exist in Hardy. The commit which provides support came after Hardy's release and is as follows:

This patch is quite a bit larger than what typically qualifies for SRU. I'll ping the rest of the team to get their opinion if this will qualify or not for Hardy SRU.
