Bug Description

SRU justification:

Impact: The mentioned change by upstream (in the Karmic release code) caused regressions for the detection of some devices.

Fix: "pci: increase alignment to make more space for hidden code" which comes in through 2.6.31.6 resolves the issue and allows affected devices to be detected again.

Just opening a bug in launchpad to keep this on our radar and also track the issue upstream:

The Atheros ath9k module is not working with [testing]-kernel 2.6.31.1 on an
Acer Extensa 7630EZ. Downgrading to 2.6.30.x solves this problem

Ok the patch mentioned on the upstream bug report is applied to some test kernels for another bug, if those who are affected by this could test these kernels and report back here. Thanks! The kernels are at the URL below:

We have good testing results on a similar bug which indicates the above fix should resolve the issues. I am closing this bug against bug #407040.

Comments in that bug seem to indicate its not really a master of this. So I reverted the dup.
