Bug Description

My Nebula DigiTV PCI card does not work following an upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04. It worked fine under 8.10.

When running xine dvb://, the application freezes and the following appears in /var/log/messages:

kernel: [ 4265.603605] DVB: adapter 0 frontend 0 frequency limits undefined - fix the driver
kernel: [ 4265.604009] DVB: adapter 0 frontend 0 frequency limits undefined - fix the driver

I too have this problem and it is resolved by using an older Kernel under Ubuntu 9.04 (2.6.27-9 was the one I was using)

I have the same problem. All was OK (with all packages updated) under Ubuntu 8.10. Since the upgrade to 9.04 the problem occurs. It is trying to access a Nebula DigiTV PCI card with a Zarlink mt352 chip and driver.

This is still a problem for me. I have tried booting with kernel 2.6.27-14-generic and the DVB problem goes away and I can record again BUT this impacts playback. Audio is fine but any file played back has choppy video as if the system plays back only one frame in two or three.

This renders the machine almost useless. I can either record or I can play back but not both unless I reboot between recording and playing back.....

Does anyone know how to get back to the Ubuntu 8.10 scenario which worked OK?

James
