Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

Master sound control does not control the volume at all. The only way to control the volume is by increasing/decreasing the PCM control via KMix or alsaconfig.

This was fixed with the latest linux-*-2.6.22-10 kernel update, however the volume is very low with everything cranked. Will file new bug. Thanks guys!

I still have this problem, even with 2.6.22-14 release 9 Oct 2007. I've had this since I started using Gutsy Beta, or any ALSA over 1.0.14rc2.

Me too - I have the same problem
Master volume control does not work in Gutsy, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic (tested in alsamixer).
