Bug Description

Binary package hint: libsvg1

I'm running Gutsy i386.

I have an upgrade icon in my notification area that tells me there's a problem and I need to run "sudo apt-get install -f" in a terminal window to fix it.

When I do that I get:

The following extra packages will be installed:
  libsvg1
The following NEW packages will be installed:

I don't believe that we've ever had a 'libsvg' package in Ubuntu, and that it was in a 3rd party repository related to beryl. Could you paste the output of 'apt-cache policy libsvg' here please?

Are you sure there isn't such a package, as I see the following:

openoffice.org-draw: Depends: libsvg1 but it is not installable

dpkg -r libsvg libsvg-cairo seemed to fix it for me, thanks.

FWIW, i've patched our libsvg packages to conflict/replace the unofficial beryl ones, as so many people are using them.

I feel sufficiently dirty, now.

libsvg (0.1.4-1ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Add conflicts/replaces for libsvg on libsvg1. Libsvg is from the
unofficial beryl packages, but it is easier to do this than close all of the
bug reports that will be filed on this issue.
  * Modify Maintainer value to match the DebianMaintainerField
    specification.
