Bug Description
libdebian-installer FTBFS's in karmic/sparc. Please merge this fix which corrects the compiler warnings (and adds some sanity checking to fwrite calls).

No, I intentionally removed the code to do this that was previously there because current glibc no longer requires this. The right thing to do is to fix current versions of glibc to actually build on sparc.
