Bug Description

I'm following instructions given at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades/Kubuntu to upgrade from Kubunto 7.10 to 8.04 using the alternate i386 CD.
Issuing the cdromupgrade command as instructed returns a "command not found"
Same if I try to access the command in different ways (e.g. from Dolphin)

Please note that MD5sum was correct and CD verified during K3b burning.

If not a 8.04 bug, then it is poor or incomplete documentation on the kubuntu website!

You need to call it as described in the instructions, with an absolute path.

kdesu "/cdrom/cdromupgrade"

Changed in kubuntu-meta:
status: New → Invalid

Jonathan, that is exactly what i did first and tryed again and again, both typeing the command and performing a "copy and paste" from the instructions page, including the "".
Only when this didn't work i tryed to run the command in two differnt ways, none of which worked. One is documented above; the other attempt was from Dolphin where I selected the cdromupgrade command file and selected the option to run it as root.

I wouldn't have wasted precious people's time if the problem was that trivial.

I think this is a known bug wherein the Alternate CD is not being mounted as '/media/cdrom'
