Kompozer crashes whenever any of the "Table" menu items are clicked on. (And it's instantaneous!)

Have just installed amd64 version of Alpha 6. Same problem with Kompozer as under previous versions of Intrepid. Kompzer freezes as soon as the "Table" menu is touched.

Rightee, just made a new install of Intrepid Beta: Evolution "crash with SIGSEGV" has gone away, but that with Kompozer persists.
Going near the Table or Insert menus precipitates an immediate crash.

Good one, Alessandro. You can indeed pretty much stop any software from crashing by uninstalling it, Ubuntu, for instance.
Thing is that I like Ubuntu, except that to use Komposer I have to get out of Linux and boot WinXP, and use the WinDoze version.
Oh, the shame of it all.
My bad, not a clear question: is there any way of preventing Kompozer crashing in Intrepid so that it is usable?
Cheers,
Bruce

I believe that with the final version Ubuntu 8.10 that will be released at
the end October this issue is resolved. It is also true that kompozer lacks
in upgrades for so long.
See you soon

You can try to use it via Wine... wouldn't be the best option but may work.
Have you tried NVU or some other similar application ?

NVU was discontinued. Komposer took over from there. If you want an alternative, there's always Amaya.

Amaya could be a valid alternative, but because it does not come arranged
this bug in kompozer?

Hello everybody,

Distro: Ubuntu 8.10 amd64.

I just wanted to tell you that the kompozer version from the ubuntu repositories (version 0.7.10 (20080314)) is crashing even when opening a submenu. It is clearly unusable.

Also the latest version (version (20090206)) available from sourceforge to download works very well (the binary is available for download).

So my question is: when do we get to see the fix/current stable version in the repositories?

Thank you,

Iulian
