Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdepim-runtime

Running akonaditray in 9.10 did show me a icon in system tray - after upgrade to lucid its gone.
akonaditray is running but no icon is shown - using Gnome as Desktop.

Need to run kcmshell4 kcm_akonadi by hand to get settings menu for akonadi - should be done via tray icon, shouldn't it?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Maverick Meerkat. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

On another sidenote, i could successfully run akonaditray in KDE and get a systray icon.
Thanks.

Setting Low since it's a usability issue that happens only in gnome and can be worked around.

The GNOME indicator applet "eats" the icon when it is in passive mode, and from what I see the akonadi status notifier is always in passive mode, so it will not show up there.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Gnome desktop 2.32.0, Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick. ps shows akonaditray is running, but there is no tray icon visible. I have to use the command line to get to the KDE control module for akonadi: 'kcmshell4 kcm_akonadi' I also notice that the command 'kcmshell4 --list' does NOT show the existence of the akonadi control module, even though it is installed and working. (??)

I just installed digiKam and it does not display a tray icon. Since I've never used it before, I don't know if it's supposed to. But there's no way to terminate it except to use 'kill'. Gnome desktop 2.32.0, Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick.

Hello, download the icon from here https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/appicon/show/Akonaditray , and move has akonadi.png to /usr/share/icons/ folder, pasting this comand: sudo cp Downloads/Akonaditray.png /usr/share/icons/akonadi.png
Now we have the icon automaticlly. Regards
