kwin (KDE4) consumes 99% of CPU

Bug Description

I'm using Hardy64 and kde 4.1 from the ppa repository kubuntu-members-kde4 and the process kwin consumes 99% of one of my two cores.

$ apt-cache policy kde-window-manager
kde-window-manager:

Thank you for reporting this bug. Did you something special after that you have this situation or directly after kde4 startup?

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that I had enabled the desktop effects (without effects, kwin works normally).
With desktop effects, it happens directly after kde4 start-up.

I have a nVidia GeForce 7150M and I'm using the proprietary driver.

I think this is a known problem with the nvidia-driver. Please look at

I added all the options they recommend, but this issue still there,
kwin continues consuming a lot of CPU. I will try using nv driver.

I re-read it carefully, and followed all the tips there, and I got
much better results.

Because this is a performance problem with the nvidia driver and no real bug, i mark this as invalid. Thank you again for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Feel free to submit any future bugs you may find.
