Binary package hint: josm

The default theme for josm should be GTK+ when started in a Gnome desktop (Ubuntu).

This is available in Edit > Preferences > Look and Feel.

Where are you getting the package from? Is it from the comment or from
the copy I gave you on USB key?

Please try with the same package from my PPA (0.0.svn1788-0ubuntu2). Sorry about the issues, there must have been a problem with how I built the package on my system. Here is the actual build: https://edge.launchpad.net/~mathieu-tl/+archive/ppa/+build/1274067

Attached a debdiff that fixes the bug if you can confirm that this works...
