Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I have a Lenovo T61 (1024x768) + 20" Wide-screen Samsung LCD connected via docking station.

Both displays have 1024x768. If I open gnome-display-preferences I uncheck mirror screens, drag the 14" laptop LCD to the right of the bigger Samsung, click the Samsung and change resolution to 1650x1080. Nothing happens when I press apply.

I tried to log out and log in again only to find that all settings were back to the way they were, mirror was enabled again.

Hi,

In this case you would need to set the "Virtual" setting in you
xorg.conf. The capplet should tell you to do this, and in new versions
will do so, and with screen-resolution-extra installed offer to do it.

Thanks,

James
