Bug Description

In the latest updated Hardy, the gnome-display-settings tool doesn't work. It shows my two screens ok, but settings to them don't take effect. My two screens are an internal LCD and an external VGA monitor.

I can set these how I need them using the xrandr cmdline tool, but the gui tool just doesn't make any changes.

When i click apply, I can see the "Sending client message" message on stdout but nothing happens.

Graphics card is: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad R61.

Same is happening for me.

I have a Dell 2005FPW with a intel915 chipset. The screens and monitors applet will let me choose the monitor but sometimes 1680x1050 doesn't even show up as a choice.

Thank you for your bug report. Do you still get the issue? That should be fixed using the new versions
