wrong linked smarty

I also had the same bug as well when I upgrade ubuntu-server from hardy to intrepid

Same issue with me. Correcting that link everything works just fine.

Change the symlink 'smarty' in /usr/share/gallery2/lib to point to /usr/share/php/smarty instead of /usr/share/php/smarty/libs.

Excellent, thank you. That removed all but 4 of my missing file warnings (20 adodb and 2 smarty related). However the gallery now works.

Apache return error code 500. After changing the symlink all works fine !

+1, this bit me too. RRRGGGHGH. Just fix the symlink already :-)

(By the way, the 4 files still missing after upgrade are only license/copyright info files and not needed for proper functioning of Gallery2)

Here is a trivial patch to the gallery2-2.2.6 source package which fixes the bug. Please apply :-)

I have created a proper debdiff for MOTU sponsorship, using the patch provided by Dan Lenski (thanks Dan). Not sure if this is a SRU candidate for Intrepid, but just for the record without this patch the software does not install correctly and is unusable. Would a kind MOTU please comment on this. Don't mention in debian/changelog that you modified both debian/control and debian/changelog. You will obviously modify the changelog file.

The version number is also incorrect, it should be: 2.3-1ubuntu1 not 2.3-0ubuntu2. Adding -0ubuntu2 means that the package does not exist in Debian and the Ubuntu revision number is 2. Anyway, we should start counting from 1 not from 2.

1) my bad, miss interpreted policy, it is now fixed.

2) I have had MOTU's in the past complain about not providing enough information in the changelog, just covering all the bases, it has been removed.

3) Oversight on my part, thank you for explaining it. (the sarcasm is not needed, I know how to count)
