Bug Description

Binary package hint: f-spot

The Smugmug exporter fails between the first and second photo on a multiple photo export with the message:

"Error Uploading To Gallery: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

This is on Ubuntu 8.04, with F-Spot 0.4.3.1-0ubuntu1 and Smugmug export plugin 0.4.3.0 and 0.4.3.1 (I tried both).

I double checked and the first photo of the set does make it up on smugmug, but not the second.

In the export dialog I do NOT select Style->Resize to: or Style->Autorotate. I have tried selecting and unselecting Album->Open Album in browser... with no change in error message.

lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04

This bug was fixed in F-Spot's SVN, and was discussed in bugzilla bug 542934 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=542934. Ubuntu should update it's distributed version to the updated version.

The Bug Watch Updater automatically adjusted the status of this bug from "Unknown" to "Incomplete" on 2008-07-24. As Jared M. noted above, the F-Spot developers have indicated that a fix is available in F-Spot's SVN repository. It seems to me that the status of this bug should be either "Confirmed," or "In progress." Will this bug be addressed?

Thanks,
Forest

if the fix exists in svn i'm marking this as fix-committed, did you try to reproduce the same with the intrepid version?

Hey, thanks Pedro. I'm looking for a backport to Hardy. So who is in charge of maintaining the Hardy F-spot package -- in other words, how can we get the fix distributed?

Pedro, am I missing something here? As I read your message again, it appears to me that you may have misunderstood.

The F-Spot developers have fixed the problem in their own repository (http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/f-spot?view=revision&revision=2625). This is *not* fixed in Ubuntu's SVN for Intrepid.

Is it possible for those subscribed to Hardy updates, to receive this fix through package management?
